Government Publishes Draft Legislation To Improve Quality Of Data Collected By HMRC

The government has published draft legislation to improve the quality of data collected by HMRC. This provides better outcomes for taxpayers and businesses, improves compliance, and results in a more resilient tax system.

Employers will be required to provide information in more detail on employee hours worked using RTI reporting.

The legislation confirms that this will not apply until the earliest 2025/26 tax year.

We will need to wait for more detailed regulations to be published before we know exactly what impact this will have on employers.
